An exciting two days of puppet making designed for creative young people aged 7-11 this Easter holiday!
Let your imagination soar and get creative with this two day puppet event.
Monday 15th April – Muppet Hand Puppets
Design and make your very own cheeky hand puppet character, maybe a unicorn, house elf, dragon or Easter bunny? Work with fabric, foam, glue and card to construct these fun creatures, learning lots of new techniques along the way. Then bring your new character to life with a short informal performance.
Tuesday 16th April – Shadow Puppets
Enter a mysterious world of shadow puppetry. Have fun playing with light and colour. Get hands on testing out some traditional puppets then design and make your own. Invent new characters, construct joints so they can move and add colour to make them glow. Finally bring your puppets to life with a short informal performance.
Both workshops will be led by HandMade Theatre’s Creative Director Amy Nicholson, a specialist in Puppet Making. She has been making puppets for over 15 years and her creations have featured theatre productions, short films and music video’s. She will be supported by Theatre Design students from Nottingham Trent University.
Don’t get bored this Easter, get inspired! Learn new skills, get creative and make new friends!
