Flying the Nest – First Rehearsals

Devising the new project ‘Flying The Nest’ has begun! Our first week of rehearsals saw the creative exploration and research of different native birds including Kestrals, Oyster Catchers, Robins, Magpies, King Fishers and Owls.  We took inspiration from traditional poems and stories, facts, songs and images.  We explored these birds through movement activities, music, song, puppetry and object theatre.  We created key sections of of text, movement and image around each bird and began to bring these together into an overarching structure for the show.  We carefully considered interactive elements to engage our young audience and also key facts and insights to inform them.
