As the new intern I had the pleasure of attending the rehearsals in the studio for the first time! The team are busy rehearsing for their show Flying The Nest, as it approaches our national summer tour this year.
One benefit of the new space is that there is plenty of room to play with and move around in. With all the many props and costumes involved, it’s great to have somewhere permanent to store them all. Have a look at all the bird-related props peeping around the workshop!
I was very impressed by the set, which is wooden and incorporates many different elements, including a backdrop and a raised area. The set can be assembled and reassembled to move to different locations. The HandMade van will also make it very easy to transport the various set pieces when on tour!
Whilst I was there, we did two whole run-throughs of the performance. The show is very interactive; full of fun characters and catchy music. I think it’s safe to say that I will have the songs stuck in my head for a long time!
If the rehearsals are anything to go by, it’s set to be a brilliant series of shows. So, having learnt all of the birder rules myself, everything is coming together rather nicely for our first show at Geronimo Festival this weekend.
