We’re Recruiting!!

This summer sees another busy tour for the HandMade Theatre team therefore we are very excited to announce that we are recruiting for two new positions; a female performer and a stage manager! See job descriptions below:

Female Performer/Musician

We are looking for one female performer/musician – to take part in our summer tour of How Time Flies. This exciting interactive show was devised in 2016 and has already completed a successful debut tour in Summer 2016.  We are looking for a new member of the team to support a busy summer schedule.

There will be rehearsals at our Nottingham base in May and various national tour dates between May and August where you will be touring with two other performer/musicians and a stage manager. Applicants must be willing and able to load sets and drive a small wheelbase van.

Contemporary performance skills, experience in interactive work and an interest in making theatre for young people are desirable. A portable instrument is essential.

Dates (must be able to attend all of these):

Rehearsals Dates: 4th/5th/12th May

Tour Dates: 13th May, 3rd& 4th June, 11th June, 23rd June, 27th-29th June, 23rd July, 30th July, 3-5th August, 19th& 20th August, 25th-28th August. (Please note most dates also involve loading and travelling the day before/after)

HandMade Theatre is an ITC ethical manager and so Fees are based on ITC standard rates of pay for performers and with the addition of per diems.

Stage Manager:

We are looking for a stage manager to support our touring show How Time Flies which is touring from May-August 2017. The show will visit a variety of venues and festivals over the summer and the role will require initiative, good people skills and great organisation. The SM will tour with a team of 3 performer/musicians and will be the main contact for all technical requirements and touring logistics.

We will look for experience of touring to outdoor festivals, an ability to think quickly and respond to all situations is important as well as keeping calm under pressure.
