A show inspired by travel, transport and adventure!
We invited audiences to join the Three Captains as they work together to take on the ultimate travel challenge! Roaming the land, the air and sea, by boat, plane and train.
This production reworked our love of travel and adventure which was developed with our first company production 'The Flying Machine'. With an innovative use of the original set we transformed it into a range of vehicles and settings before your very eyes. This really was an interactive expedition of discovery, a voyage to remember!
During the devising of this production we worked with a Makaton signing specialist to embed this element into the piece and make the work as accessible as possible to our audiences.
We worked with a talented team of musicians to pack this show with catchy songs and dynamic music. It toured a range of UK festivals to great acclaim from audiences.
We had the absolute pleasure of watching your show at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival near Inverness at the weekend. A family ranging in age from 11 to 62 years old, including 2 very serious teenagers laughed, clapped, cheered and got involved and loved it. The weather was glorious and the performers must have been melting but it didn’t show in their performances. I just wanted to pass on how much we all loved the show.
What a fantastic, inclusive and interactive performance @Gloworm Festival 2019. This was one of our highlights this year ⛵️🛩🚂
HANDMADE THEATRE WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2011 AND SINCE THEN WE HAVE DEVELOPED A NUMBER OF KEY PRODUCTIONS DEVELOPING OUR UNIQUE INTERACTIVE STYLE AND BRAND.
It all began with The Flying Machine which was a creative project originally developed in collaboration with Rosehill Special School. This went on to become a popular family show touring to festivals and events nationally and set us on track as a successful touring company.
We are proud of all the unique productions we have created exploring a wide range of themes from history to transport, adventure to nature. Sadly as ideas and performers move on, not all our wonderful shows can remain in our current touring vocabulary and must be archived. That is the very nature of producing live events. But a little glimpse at our past work can be found here.
